How to Clear a Paper Jam in Canon Printer

Canon printers are widely used across the globe and are also admired a lot. But sometimes users may encounter paper jam errors while printing. Users fail to remove the paper from the transport unit and the paper remains inside the machine only. • Open the paper output cover of the machine.
• Check for any paper residual and remove it from the front tray.

1. Do not touch the clear film because touching the clear film may scratch it causing the damage of the printer.

• Make sure there is no paper jammed under the FINE cartridge holder. If you see jammed paper under the holder then move the FINE cartridge holder to the right edge or the left edge whichever is easier to remove the paper. When you will move the holder, hold and slide it slowly to the right edge or left edge.
• Hold the jammed paper with your hands and pull it out. Take the paper out slowly not to tear it.
• Ensure you have taken out all the jammed paper inside the machine. If the paper is torn then even a piece of paper may become a hurdle in printing. So check the follow & remove the pieces of paper if there is any:

1. Check for any paper residual Under the FINE cartridge holder.
2. Check for little pieces inside the machine.
3. Check the right and left side space inside the machine.

• Close the paper output cover.
• Now reload the paper. All the print jobs in the queue are canceled by now. If necessary reprint your desired documents.

Point to be noted: When you will reload the paper, make sure that you use suitable paper for printing and also load correctly. If the message about paper jam appears on the system’s screen when you resume printing after removing all the jammed paper, a piece of paper may remain inside the printer. In this situation, confirm that no piece of paper remains inside the printer.
